Mindfulness Kilkenny have been in touch recently to let us know about an 8 week course in Mindfulness starting on Tuesday 30 September 2014, from 7.00pm – 8.30pm at the Kilkenny School Project, Springfields, Waterford Road, Kilkenny.
This eight week Mindfulness course incorporates techniques such as meditation, gentle yoga and mind-body exercises to help people cope with stress. It gives people greater clarity on what is happening in their lives, improving problem-solving and boosting concentration. People who took an eight week course in Mindfulness say that they feel more engaged in their work and their lives, they feel more energised and less anxious. They sleep better and have fewer physical symptoms of stress.
While short bursts of pressure can help us to rise to the challenge, long term stress can have a major impact on our physical and mental health. Stress is the feeling of being under pressure , with symptoms including anger and anxiety, difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, breathlessness and chest pains. As well as impacting on peoples health and well being, it can also damage social lives and relationships.
The course comes with a cost of €210 for the eight weeks which includes CDs and workbook. Mindfulness Kilkenny also run courses and workshops for children (ages 7-11 years) and staff and groups or individuals. From their Facebook page we can see they’re going to be teaching with the KSP (Kilkenny School Project) from November with Mindfulness courses for 7-11 year olds.
